The present appearance of the Kaštel Hotel, located in the palace castle of the Polesini family, is much different than its original, 17th c. Renaissance look.

How to get there:
Start from the main parking lot underneath Motovun along the main road up. After 1 km, the entrance into the old part of the town, the Gradiziol Street, is reached. Continue along said street without turning for about 350 meters until the first town gates
The building of the palace castle, which has been transformed into the Kaštel Hotel, was rather altered in comparison with its original 17th century form. The Renaissance palace was owned by the Polesini family, a powerful noble family, whose descendants resided in the castle for generations. Apart from Motovun, the Polesinis had large estates in Zamask, Motovunski Novaki and Poreč.
